The Youth Premier Soccer League (YPSL) is an affiliate of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) which is considered the largest amateur women’s league in the world. The YPSL has joined forces with the WPSL in a consolidated effort to create a true boys/girls grassroots and competitive league that works with its member clubs in the development of their young athletes (ages U8-U18). Both professional organizations believe that a well guided competitive league environment benefits our grassroots players education and development.  

The WPSL provides world-class organizational support to the YPSL in the form of club member services, team registration support and league games scheduling services. The YPSL also has a "local" Director of League Operations that will provide on-ground support to all our regional teams through the Division Coordinators and Conference Delegates.

Working in conjunction with the WPSL the YPSL is actively initiating "new" SUPER REC Leagues and YPSL+ League 1 programs across the country supporting grassroots programs where they're needed. 

In only its’ second season of operation the YPSL has established one “region” and two (2) “divisions” within that one region. The Mid-Atlantic Region includes the “northern” and “southern” divisions. The third “eastern” division is now also forming and should be in full operation by the spring of 2025. The Mid-Atlantic Region covers a vast geographical area within; Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia and eastern West Virginia. This regional/division-based model will facilitate the scheduling of games within a reasonable driving distance for all our families.

Games will only be played on Saturday(s) but the YPSL will allow teams within a conference to play each other during weekday training times if this is more convenient for our member clubs. Games during weekday afternoons will be on the seasonal schedule and are considered official league games. 

All individual players MUST be registered with the YPSL prior to being placed on a team. The league will require proof of identity and confirm date of birth for each rostered participant as per its Fair Play policy.

In order to register for the upcoming season, clubs/teams MUST petition the YPSL to play in the league. You can find the petition form in the ABOUT section on our website.

 The graphic above is not meant to be exact but to show how the YPSL will focus on keeping teams in close proximity competing against each other throughout the season. Consideration has been giving to approximate drive time, competitive level of clubs and even history of clubs in the alignment of each conference. Conference re-alignment may occur season to season as needed.
